Linking contaminants with Testosterone Levels in Male common dolphins in southern California2/15/2018 Marisa Trego, a PhD Candidate in the Lewison Lab, is the first author of a manuscript published today in Environmental Science & Technology. This project aimed to assess the presence and endocrine potential impact of a large number of organic compounds on short-beaked common dolphins in the Southern California Bight. The evidence presented here suggests that an elevated load of man-made organic contaminants could be contributing to impaired testosterone production in male short-beaked common dolphins.
