About me:
During my undergraduate studies I worked as a research assistant in Dr. Rebecca Lewison's lab. Upon graduation, I continued to gain field experience in a broad range of locations working with a variety of taxa (see below). The themes of the Conservation Ecology Lab continued to resonate with me and led me back to SDSU to complete my M.S. in Ecology.
My research interests include foraging ecology and habitat use of marine vertebrates. My master’s thesis focuses on the effects of Southern sea otter (Enhydra lutris nereis) predation on Dungeness crab (Metacarcinus magister) in Elkhorn Slough. As sea otters continue to reoccupy estuarine habitat of the California coast, it is important to understand how they will impact this economically important crab species which utilizes estuaries as nursery habitat.
