I received my B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Ecology in 2022 while working with the County of San Diego's Department of General Services. My time with the county led to me developing a great interest in the effectiveness of the mitigation measures that are taken as communities and amenities are developed. In particular, I wanted to look more closely at the changing effects of wildfires. My MS research focuses on the landscape ecology of montane wilderness, the disturbance regimes which define those landscapes, and their ability to resist changes to their composition and structure in the face of climate change. My hope is that these findings may be used as justification for integrating active management into wilderness spaces. Reach out if you have any questions about the lab or the Ecology MS program! |
