Hi! I'm the Project Manager and a researcher for the Connecting Wildlands and Communities project.
After many years in an Information Technology career, I decided that I could do better things for our world than help engineers design the latest- greatest cell phone chip. It was time for something completely different and I wanted to make the places we live in more sustainable. I took classes in Urban Planning and GIS, interned at some cities and consulting firms, and finally ended up with a Masters degree in City Planning from San Diego State University. After graduating, I worked on multiple research projects analyzing active transportation demand and safety data as well as maintaining the San Diego Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Counter Network. I'm thrilled to be part of a team providing data and tools to inform and improve planning decisions leading to better environments for both humans and wildlife in Southern California. And very happy to be doing so in an environment with awesome students that gives me the opportunity to learn something new every day! |
