My research focuses on understanding how long-term changes (presses) and episodic, extreme events (pulses) driven by climate change impact species spatiotemporal distributions and how such shifts pose challenges for fisheries management and marine conservation. Much of my work is aimed at supporting climate-readiness and sustainable fisheries by applying spatiotemporal modeling and innovative data integration techniques to develop tools that better understand the climate-induced redistribution of marine predators and fishing fleets. In 2024, I completed my PhD in the Conservation Ecology at San Diego State University, where I studied the impacts of long-term ocean warming and marine heatwaves on the spatiotemporal distributions of marine predators. During my PhD, I was a NMFS-Sea Grant Population and Ecosystem Dynamics Fellow, and in 2018 I earned my MSc at the University of San Diego. When not writing beautiful R code, I love to spend my free time outdoors, which can include surfing, hiking, snorkeling, and camping. Publications Farchadi, N., McDonnell, L.
